WEDDING WEDNESDAY ONE

As most of you know, I am ENGAGED!!! On Sunday, May 21, 2017 my best friend of 4 years got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!!! It was seriously the BEST day of my life!!!

I'm working on a brief summary of how it all began and how Taylor popped the question for our Wedding Page, and I can not wait to share it on the blog with you guys on another Wedding Wednesday Post! This one isn't the first post because there's so much to capture over the past 4 years, I want to make sure I get it just right for our Wedding Site before publishing our story on the blog, because to me these past 4 years have been a real life fairytale!!! Taylor seriously makes me the happiest girl alive and I can not wait to marry him!!! I do have a few wedding details below though! ENJOY! :)

We will be getting married in Raleigh, NC - Summer 2018

Church: White Memorial Presbyterian Church - This is the Church Taylor has been a part of his whole life, and is now a part of both our lives!!! Initially, I had always imaged an outdoor wedding... but Taylor told me that he had always envisioned me (his future wife) standing behind two big doors, them opening, and me walking down the aisle of his childhood Church... and if that doesn't make your heart melt, I don't know what will, so I immediately decided that White Memorial was the spot where we would say our "I Do's" in front of God, family and friends!!!

Venue: Melrose Knitting Mill - This venue describes Taylor and I down to a T. It's in downtown Raleigh, it has exposed brick on the inside, big exposed beams, and the most gorgeous Chandeliers!!! It's giving us the outside vibe I had always imagined without being outside (which is making my mom super happy). Ya'll.... the moment I stepped foot inside, I knew instantly that this was the perfect spot for Taylor and I! He was still living in GA at the time, but when I FaceTimed him and showed him pictures he agreed that this fit our personalities the absolute BEST!!! 

I'm looking forward to taking ya'll along this journey of wedding planning and sharing more details about mine and Taylor's big day... but first, a huge SHOUT OUT needs to go out to my sweet momma!!! She has been a ROCKSTAR throughout this whole process. Taylor and I have shared all our ideas, visions, etc. and Momma Woodard has booked all the appointments, handled all the phone calls, and pretty much been the lady in charge!!! She's literally putting together our dream wedding! We both are so incredibly thankful for her help!!! Taylor and I have been able to relax and just enjoy being engaged and celebrate the fact that we get to spend the rest of our lives together in less than a year!!! It's been the most wonderful feeling!!! So THANK YOU, Mom! I love you tons!

For this Wedding Wednesday Post, I'm sharing how I asked my bridesmaids to stand by my side on mine and Taylor's BIG DAY!!! I hope you enjoy!!!

 

The flip flops are for the girls to wear while getting ready on our big day, and to also wear at the reception.... because let's be honest, who doesn't want to kick their heels off after a long day of standing. The champagne glasses are for mimosas the morning of!!! I went ahead and did flip flops and champagne glasses for my mom, Taylor's mom, and myself so that we would all match the day of!!! A good family friend of ours helped me make this vision come alive!!! I described to her what I had in mind when asking the girls, and she created exactly that!!! She made all the vinyl decals for me and showed me how to apply each vinyl piece to each item!!! The application part was a little time consuming, but I put on a good show on Netflix and the next thing I knew, I was finished!!!!

On the other side of the card I wrote a special note to each girl about how much they mean to me and how they've impacted my life over the years!!! 

I'll do another post with images of me and my bridesmaids (there's 8 of them) and a brief story about how I met each of them!!! These girls are seriously the best friends a girl could ask for!!!

This sale is seriously amazing!!! There were so many more things I wanted to purchase, but I was trying to buy only staple pieces for fall/winter + my budget wouldn't allow it haha!!! 

Side note: I haven't been able to take many photos lately because my mom hasn't been able to come visit as much as she use to due to my crazy work schedule & her moving into the beach house. I mean who would blame her??!!! I wouldn't leave the beach if I was her! My fiancé has been traveling every week for work it seems, so he hasn't been able to help out either! :(

We've made it to Friday ya'll or better yet, friYAYYYY! This week has been jammed packed with work and wedding planning!!! Who knew so much went into planning a wedding?!!! Not I, haha!!! With all that being said... I wanted to get your weekend started with a bright, colorful post!!! So excited to share my PINK FLAMINGO look with ya'll and talk about some of my favorite accessories!!! In my opinion the more accessories the better, haha!!! :) 

 There's no secret that I love wearing bright, colorful outfits!!! Nothing says cheerful more than wearing Lilly Pulitzer... and YA'LL... their summer outfits have been so on point!!! I literally want it all! This romper is one of the best purchases I've made this summer! I've already worn it a ton of times! I've dressed it up (as seen above), and I've dressed it down just by throwing on a simple sandal! The tassel ties in the back are my FAVE, such an awesome touch!!!! Now, time to share my go to accessory, that's super affordable......So ya'll I can't say enough awesome things about Lily and Laura bracelets. For the past few years I've been obsessed! Happy Hump Day Friends! 

I know, I know... I've been MIA! I started my job as an RN in Feb., I put the blog on hold because I wanted to get the feel of things and dedicate my time to learning and growing as a new nurse! I also got put on night shift, so it's been quite an adjustment... But I'm loving every second of being a nurse!!! :) 

At the end of the day though, fashion still has a huge part of my heart! I just love getting to share outfit ideas with you all! Blogging is my outlet!!! So I decided to kick off my coming back with a little Memorial Day post! Hope you enjoy! :)

 Memorial Day Weekend is usually spent on the water with my family and friends! It's a day for remembering the brave men and women who died serving our country!!! A huge thank you goes out to those brave men and women and to their families and friends. Let us honor them and show our support for our country, the GREAT USA by wearing RED, WHITE, & BLUE!

Now that my family's beach house is finished in South Topsail, I find myself going into Sandy Toe's quite often!!! I mean, how could I not??!!! The store is adorable!!! My top and shorts are Joy Joy brand and I'm seriously obsessed! Joy Joy clothing items hold up so well. I kid you not.... I have Joy Joy pieces in my closet from High School that I still wear!
